Just a few kilometers from Niš, along the Nis-Sofia highway, on the route of the Roman Emperors, the Cellar Malca 1903 years old represents a unique story of wine roads that crossed, passed through and on the end merged into a fairy tale. . Wine cellar Malca tells this fairy tale through its unusual combination of tradition and culture of Roman Emperors, Serbian rulers and old wine masters. Wine travellers will have a unique place to experience "Journey through Wine Time" by visiting four wine houses from four different epochs and getting to know many ways of wine cultivation.
Status Winery from Svrljig has renovated this cellar and here you will have a unique journey through wine time. You are going to visit four wine houses and you will be able to see how and in which wine vessels wine was preserved in different time periods. You will also have the opportunity to taste wine. On this time travel, you are going to pass through four wine houses: 1. Roman wine house - where wine is preserved in clay amphoras, 2. Wine house from the Nemanjic dynasty - where wine is preserved in wooden barrels, 3. Serbian wine house - where wine is preserved in concrete tanks, and 4. Modern winery – where wine is preserved in inox tanks.
