About the facility
House of Colovic (Kuca Colovica) is located in the village Mala Vrbica, on the way from Stragara to Kutlovo and Kragujevac, in Sumadija. Located centrally within a large estate of nearly 150 hectares, of former brothers Colovic, reminds on the perfect, inseparable blend of the old rural architecture and modern present time. In three circular courtyards is housed a number of old houses, guest houses, outbuildings, dairies, granaries, ancillary facilities, distillery, old bee hives, new buildings, which ones, as in any ethno village, are set and saved in its original form - represent a unique monument of history, culture and life of the one original Serbian family. The most important house in the courtyard is The Old House (Stara Kuca), built in the early nineteenth century, in which is one of the oldest, original hearths in Serbia, because of which this facility is proposed from the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments in Kragujevac - to gain status of the museum, the cultural monument under state protection. New House (Nova Kuca) is from 1900 year, with total living space of about 400 squared meters, renovated in 2010, under the supervision of the famous architect from Kragujevac, Bogosav Jovanovic. House of Colovic has thirteen beds in 6 separate rooms, three rooms highly equipped for daily staying, of which one is glazed and provides a special pleasure; two kitchenettes, which are always available to guests as well as a large kitchen, fully equipped. The house has a laundry room (room for washing, drying and ironing clothes, where is also a sewing machine), mini gym (a treadmill, a gym bike, a stepper, a muscle shaper exercise machine), library, wine cellar and a joint minibar. House has a superb modern equipment and central and underfloor heating with the addition of two original Franklin stoves, so the house also can be used in winter. The house has a rich offer of different dishes, for all three meals per day, which includes the traditional, homemade Serbian food, as well as original dishes of old Serbian cuisine, which are prepared not only by the old recipe, but also on the old wood stove. In the yard is located a pool with sizes of 9 x 4.5 meters, equipped with a hydro-massagers and lights for night swimming. All guests also have access to the tennis court, mountain bikes and to table tennis and there is also a possibility of horse riding. Household makes their own homemade products such as: rakija- traditional Serbian alcoholic drink (made from quince, plum, apricot, pear or raspberry), jam (made from quince, plum, apricot, rosehip, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry or vineyard peach), wine, cheese, kajmak (Serbian milk cream), corn flour, ajvar (Serbian pepper chutney), smoked pork sirloin, smoked paprika, dried fruit, lime tea... House of Colovic organizes excursions with the possibility of visiting places Topola and Oplenac, monastery Vracevsnica and of course visiting the "Kuca Colovica". House of Colovic is a winner of award "Brand Leader" in the field of ethno tourism, for the region of South-East Europe for 2012.
