Petrović family has been producing wine from the 18th century. The oldest object is a winery that is rebuilt on the old foundations. We have the old vineyards since 1936. years, we have planted prokupac. Wine production was started primarily for personal use and a small part of the market, and made the wine for ceremonies in monasteries in Kosovo and in Serbia.
The village of Velika Hoča, located at a distance of 5-6 km southeast of Orahovac and about 25 km from Prizren, one of the oldest Serbian villages in Metohija, with a special spirit and history, the home of the famous imperial wine autochthonous Prokupac and Vranac, favorite wines at courts of Nemanjić dynasty in the capital of Prizren. Because of river and stream valleys to the south and west, in the area you can feel the influence of the Mediterranean climate which penetrates through the valley of the Beli Drim and has beneficial effect on the wine. All written records about this settlement are related to growing grapes and manufacturing wine and brandies.
Bottled wine:
- METOHIJSKO red - was produced by blending Vranac, Prokupac and Game. It is used for ceremonies in monasteries in Kosovo and Serbia. The wine is aged in oak barrels.
- Carsko red - was produced by blending Vranac and Prokupac the medieval recipe which is cultivated in Velika Hoča. Aged in oak barrels. 2008th At the competition in the Grand Casino Belgrade, which gathered 120 local wineries, Carsko red won the award for the best Serbian wines from local indigenous given by Spanish sommelier.
- ZAVIČAJ (white wine) - The product is a blend of old and Riesling varieties Smederevka and every sip of this wine back to their homeland. Aged in oak barrels.
