Museum of Serbian medicine

The museum was founded in 1955., on the initiative of prof. dr. Vladimir Stanojevic, and since 2007 is part of the Museum of Science and Technology. 


It is located in the building of the former first Belgrade hospital, built in 1868.  and designed by John Ferenc. The museum displays a setting "Medicine in Serbia through centuries" which shows the evolution of medicine in this region from the late Palaeolithic period to the present day. Featured are the antique medical intrumenti (oldest ulna fractures treated with Cro-Magnon from 7000 years ago), folk medicine and achievements of Serbian medieval medicine, but also the beginnings of modern medicine through the exposed documents, photographs, medical instruments, apparatus and accessories.
