Museum of Jovan Cvijic

Museum of Jovan Cvijic is dedicated to Serbian scientist and founder of Serbian geography, who lived from 1865 to 1927. Working within the framework of the Belgrade City Museum, and is located in the house where the scientist lived and worked, built in 1905 to designs by the Cvijic. 


It is unique for its interior decoration, which is the work of painters and decorators Dragutin Medenjak Inkiotrija. Authentic appearance kept the room his wife Ljubica and salon, while the rest of the house was converted into an exhibition space. It is setting about 1,500 cases in the form of notebooks, manuscripts, correspondence, books, atlases, maps and personal items. Currently the museum is closed for reconstruction.
