Arilje

Arilje municipality is located in the western part of Serbia. It belongs to Zlatibor region, and is situated in the basin of rivers Rzav and Moravica. Foundations of the town were set with the construction of serdar Jovan Micis’s dormitory in 1823. This region is a major producer of raspberries in Serbia.


But, in ever changing time of the nineteenth century there was only a small settlement around the church, which grew slowly. In 1880. Arilje was declared a town, and created conditions for further development were created then. This region is the main producer of raspberries in Serbia.
