Region expands from 43° 58' geographic latitude on north and 43° 44' geographic latitude on south, on altitudes from 200 m to 400 m. Area where vineyards are located is mostly on altitudes from 250 m to 350 m, with altitude gradually decreasing from east, west, and north toward central and south of region.

Types of soil in this region are vertisol and pseudogley, but there are also fluvisol, humofluvisol and semigley, eutaric cambisol and other soils. The region is characterized by moderate - steep to gentle slopes of the terrain where vineyards are, and slopes change going toward center of the region. It is also characterized by different exposition of the terrain. Vinogradi Vineyards are mostly located on south, south east, and east expositions.

Topographic – relief characteristics of this region consist out of two lower mountains Ovcar (985 m) and Kablar (889 m) on north west part of the region; mountain Jelica (929 m) in the south part. Its north east slopes make most of the Jelica vineyards. Massifs and slopes of these (Dinar) mountain, as well as hilly terrains that are predominant in north, west, and east parts of the region, are separated by basin of the river Zapadna Morava. South and central part of the region is gently hilly with flat terrains. Slopes close to the river Ibar are characteristics of Ibar vineyards.

On the west part of the region is Ovcar and Kablar canon (Landscape of outstanding features). River Zapadna Morava flows through the region. River Ibar flows near oasis Zica and Raska/Kaznovice on the west side. In the hilly/mountain part of the region there are forests of oak, Turkey oak, red oak, beech, and other. Along the river basins predominant are forests of red oak, ash, alder,  poplar, and other. Landscape characteristics of this region are also orchards and arable crops on the mountain slopes.
