Villages of the Ivanjica municipality

Ivanjica is located in the southwestern part of Serbia, in the area of Old Vlach mountains. Area of Ivanjica has great opportunities for tourism development because of the geographical position, altitude (468 meters Ivanjica, and 1833 meters mountain Golija), varied landscapes, and mountain climate.


Fast mountain rivers are rich in fish, especially trout and chub. Through Ivanjica flows Moravica river, and there are several mineral springs in this municipality, as well as lakes Ticar and Nebeska Suza. Ivanjica is surrounded by mountains Golija, Javor, Mucanj and Cemernica. Golija is covered with one of the richest and most beautiful forests in Serbia. It was proclaimed a nature park, and is under the protection of UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.

There is a church built in 1836 in Ivanjica, dedicated to the Emperor Constantine and Empress Helena. Not far from Ivanjica, in the area of Kumanica, there is a Roman bridge, and in the town of Ivanjica on the river Moravica is the biggest arched bridge in Balkans.

Ivanjica completes tourist offer with numerous cultural and historical monuments - Spomenik - a mosaic, the work of Djordje Andrejevic-Kun, the Church of Palibrcki tomb - built on the grave of Kosovo heroes Bosko Jugovic and others. A special attraction is Satellite station in Prilike, and the waterfall on the river Moravica.
