Bovansko lake is located ten kilometers from Aleksinac, 12 kilometers from Sokobanja, and 240 kilometers from Belgrade. The lake is an artificial reservoar, created after the dams were built in order to keep the deposits of mountain rivers, and to acumulate large amounts of water. It is 8 km long, 500 m wide at most, and its depth is 50 m. Because it is close to spa and mountain health resorts, Bovansko Lake is a real pearl of Aleksinac’s tourism.
